The
Golf Course originally consisted of 18 holes until 2005 when
the Golf Course was extended with another 9 holes which offers
golf players more versatility.
During the last twelve months only eighteen holes have been available but the original front nine has now been refurbished and opened for play in December 2007. The refurbished original course has been renamed the Master Course and it presents a considerable challenge. The original front nine has toughened with almost all holes increased in length. There is more water coming into play, additional hazards and water features.
The course starts at the old thirteenth (the eighth during 2007), playing through to the old eighteenth. Going from there to the old front nine starting at the old number one (now hole seven). The course is then played round the old front nine holes returning to the old tenth (now sixteenth) hole and finishing at the water hole in front of the Almerimar Hotel (the old twelfth, the seventh during 2007). It is fair to say you will find some the holes very challenging.
The new nine holes which opened in 2005 have been renamed the Classic Course and will be played as a nine hole course with appropriate green fees. The course will be available to anyone but will also be used for Academy purposes, beginners and golfers with tickets for the Master Course who may on occasions prefer less of a challenge.
